About the Mercy Team
The Mercy Team is the core of missional and outreach
programs. This team leads our congregation in the many ways we serve
the community.
The Mercy Team believes that God has prepared good works in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).
We know that the journey of following Jesus includes caring for the
people he loves. So, we look for opportunities to encourage one
another, individually and corporately, to outbursts of love and good
deeds (Hebrews 10:24).
Our focus is on meeting needs in our community both
through planned projects and taking care of incidental situations as
they arise. We enjoy several connections throughout the Flushing school
system which allow us to plan and respond in helpful ways. We’re
privileged to be part of the Flushing Christian Outreach Center.
Our Meetings Are Casual And Open
The Mercy Team meets at 7 p.m. on the first Monday of each month. Meetings are held in the church building often accompanied by light snacks (yesssss!). Those who are interested or curious are always welcome.
Backpacks Project
We have many backpacks that need to go home with you and be returned filled for the underprivleged children in Flushing! All filled backpacks are due back on Sunday Aug 29 with the supplies listed for you. The Mercy Team appreciates your willingness to get involved in this great program! Project Be
Are you interested in "going to church" or simply "being the church"? We hope both. From Sunday, August 29 thru September 5, Flushing Community Church will be calling you to BE the church by putting your faith into ACTION! Our Mercy Team is looking for projects that we can go out into the community during that week and make a real difference! We need your project ideas and we need YOU to BE the church! Did You Know...
... that our church recently delivered 2,800 diapers to Flint Eastside Mission ? We also made a connection to deliver much needed baby formula to the Mission on a regular basis. God's resources are bigger than our need ! To donate toward the FEM, see the collection area at the Welcome Table

OnGoing Projects
- Flint Eastside Mission- We do our best to provide as many diapers as possible to the Eastside Mission.
- Flushing Christian Outreach Center - We have representatives serving on the board of FCOC and we’re looking forward to being an integral component in this important project.
- Items at Welcome Table - good stewardship is important. Please stop by the Welcome Table and check out the notebooks showing items that are available to to buy, sell or trade within our church family. Soon there will also be a box with coupons. If you are an avid coupon clipper, feel free to file them in this box for others to use.
